I want to Thank You for all the hard work that you are doing to create these great parts for rebuilding our M151's.
My question is have you or do you plan to make the 2 large main frame rails for the M151A2?

Hello Robin. I had a conversation with someone last week that thought they had some of those exact parts. NOS, not take out. I'll follow up with him and see if he found them. Thank you for the support.

We've made good progress with the full side panels. Adjusted programs, improved fit ups, ect. I have to get the shovel head bracket next. These bad boys are heading Noth to Canada.

I get asked about the shovel head bracket often. I guess it's time. I cut this off of my A1 scrap pile. Quick grit blast and prime this morning and it's at our scanner now. Small part but it's pretty complex.
I bought the Cadillac version of the Blair spot weld cutter. Not cheap but works great.

Another batch of hat channels. Remember when these were getting hard to find? The yellow one is NOS and is used for QC on production orders. These match the underbody kit dimensions. $65 each plus shipping.

I have a question regarding the M151A2 rear suspension mounting brackets that are comprised of 4 pieces. Since these are individual brackets bolted to the underbody they can start to move and wear their way loose. The Canadian military had a service bulletin that had instructions to weld a cross piece between the 2 brackets to make them more solid and reduce the chances of wearing loose from the body.
What I wanted to ask you as a fabricator is there any chance you would consider making a single one piece machined suspension bracket?

Hello Robin. I've never been asked about this before. Is yours worn? I will have to take a look at mine. Are you looking for a machined bracket or a sheet metal, 1 piece bracket?

I can confirm that they are not very well designed and wear. I had to replace mine on the driver side after about 4.000 original miles. But the brackets are readily available and it is not a lot of work to change them out

From what I understand is that because the rear suspension brackets are 4 individual brackets/hangers. Because they are not like a solid U-shaped bracket at the top where it mounts to the underbody and they eventually start to wear loose and cause issues. Once you have a chance to look at your mounts you will see how the mount. If you could make them in one piece whether they are welded or machined in one piece that would make for a much better rear suspension arm mount.
Looking forward to hearing your opinion on this proposed bracket.

Here is the start of reverse engineering of the mid crossmember. Parts like this can be tricky as it's a deep bend and back bending can be required so that the part doesn't crash into the tooling.
This was just a sheared part as we have a customer that needed a short section for his project. Next will be to draw the part and program to the original design.
