I do not have my big book of authorized radio installations available- Can anyone tell me is it would be a legitimate set up to put a GRC-106, RT-524 and a R-442 together on a M151? (Not - can it be done, would Uncle Sam have done it?)
thanks
Hank
(p.s. I also have a URC-101 kicking around I would like to bolt onto something <G>)

Re: GRC 106 with rt524 and r442 on a M151
The installation of the GRC-106 at the M151 is official...
Here is the kit.
The other rear fender of the jeep is free for any other radio that permit communication at the VHF-LOW BAND 30-75MHZ ....or UHF Radio .but is not allowed <<technically>> to install at the same jeep another HF radio ( You will burn out the frond end of the receiver )

Re: GRC 106 with rt524 and r442 on a M151
THANK YOU!
Great info!- especially the part about smoking the front end.
Wasn't there a GRC-106 on the Air Force Forward Control MUTTs with all the other radios? I will have to look later... maybe they had some sort of swithcing or protective system to isolate the RF from the rx?
More and more questions... as I go down the rabbit hole <G>

Re: GRC 106 with rt524 and r442 on a M151
You can use any other radios in a jeep but not two HF radios...the space between the Megacycles is to small.
The MRC-RADIOS like MRC-107 has only one ...it is not possible to transmit 400watt/PEP at the same space with other HF receiver without burn out the Front end.
The same limitation exists and at the other radio gear like VHF and UHF ....at list the transmit frequency must be 10 mc different than the receiver.
