First down secondary roads

Some of which were better than others...

Steadily increasing convoy speeds ever watching the temp gauges and seeing how the trucks felt and the diffs howled...

Stopping of course at Chicken Annies! M882 #706 was along as well to drop off a load of heaters.

On into the night... (Started off at 1:00 P.M.)

Got in at around 8:00 PM, not the most photogenic hour so this is the next morning.

We even made use of this convienent and period correct EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle to sleep in which was even more comfortable than sleeping in the back seat of an M151.
Overall trip was a little over 200 miles, all went off without a hitch other than the one time I flipped the lever on the light switch to Park on accident and turned off the headlights. No heating up, no drive line troubles, no (unusual) funny noises no nothin.
Success! Glad it took till the last East Wind to finally self deploy a 151 series truck...

I'll bet the guy who sold this truck would never believe that it just did a road trip like that.
